Opal's blue dress

I made Opal a special dress.

A retro dress much like I wore when a baby.

It has tucks, hand embroidery, and special finishing.

The fabric is a light blue batiste with a gorgeous hand.

The pattern called for elastic and lace  at the edge of the sleeves.  I chose a bound edge instead with gathers.

When JoAnne's had dollar patterns, I found this reissue vintage pattern from 1952.

I snapped it up because it has numerical significance.  I was born in 1952.  Thirty years later I gave birth to my only baby girl.  Thirty years after that she gave birth to her own baby girl. Sometimes things just line up. Serendipity!

It's beautiful Laurel. Such serendipity calls for a dress like that.
