Idaho Family Time

We enjoyed several days in Idaho in August including a meeting together of my mother's family and their descendents.  My cousin, Bruce, and his wife, Debi, invited the family to meet in their beautiful backyard in Idaho Falls for a lovely afternoon on August 19, 2017.

My mom grew up as part of 8 siblings. This photo was taken at the ranch in 1990.  By birth order are Elden, Velva, Lowell, Gerald, Keith, Elna, Nola, and Milton.  Four of them are no longer with us; Elden, Velva, Lowell, and Nola.  The three above;  Gerald, Keith, and Elna were able to join us.  The youngest brother, Milton, lives in California and was unable to be with us.

Andrew Percy Nyborg and Rhoda Ann Foote first met 100 years ago in the summer of 1917, so it seemed fitting that their extended family were not only celebrating that meeting of two hearts but would also be witnessing the Great American Solar Eclipse and Totality on the following Monday, August 21, 2017.

My uncles and aunt are joined by Gerald's wife, Juanita and Elna's husband, Roger.  Keith's wife, Raiija has also passed as have the spouses of those siblings who are also gone.

We were trying to recreate this photo taken at the ranch in about 1967 with us standing in line according to our birth date.

Rachel and Manny get married

We traveled to Arizona for the wedding of my niece, Rachel and Manny.

They were sealed for time and all eternity in the beautiful Mesa Arizona Temple.

They make a wonderful and caring couple.

I loved Rachel's dress.  She looked beautiful and Manny was indeed her handsome prince.

My husband with my youngest sister's sons.  They were kind and laughed at his stories.

All six of my siblings were in attendance.  This picture was taken at the reception in the evening.

It was a wonderful evening and Grandpa Glen was more than happy to hold his newest granddaughter and our son, Ryan's first child.  Both are quite delighted with her.

Jenson/Clement Family Gathering 2016

July 3rd the Jenson and Clement clans gathered at Murray Park as they have on and off for years.  This year we went back one more generation  to include Della's siblings' families.  Della Clement is the beautiful girl holding her baby brother.

Her parents were Sarah Matilda Brady and Jesse Warren Clement.  Jesse Warren died fairly young from appendicitis.  These pictures are of Sarah Matilda with her grown children.

 

Sarah Matilda lived until 1970, out living some of her children. . .

Her daughter, Della, being one of them.  She passed away from thyroid cancer in 1955.  She is with her grandchildren in this photo.

It was fun to see 1st cousins visiting with each other.  Arlon and Julienne.

Arlon Clement has been a great family history gatherer.  Arlon and Alice.

Glen's three aunts were in attendance including Julienne, Alice, and Linda.  Joanne lives in Idaho and was unable to join us.  Sadly, she passed away on August 15th.

The new family tradition is to bring prizes for a major game of Bingo

My oldest son Eric had a grand time with selfies.

This was a great shot of his father, Glen, who planned and organized this fun event which included a snow ball fight at the end.  Yes, snowballs in July but they were a special kind made of lambs' wool.

And his aunt Wylene told him to stop taking her picture!
